Well I'm going to draw to become popular anyways. If it weren't that it would be learning guitar to become popular of dancing to become popular. The one thing I need now is higher self esteem and recognition from others (ie. popularity) and drawing brings that.

If you wanted to draw to get popular I’d recommend not doing it. Draw because you want to. Not because you have to or need to.
